About Us:
The Mission:
I believe every young person has the right to dream big and build a future that’s meaningful to them. My role is to listen, understand their strengths, skills and interests, and help them see what’s possible.
I focus on building confidence as well as exploring opportunities, and I work closely with families, schools, and to make sure the support around each young person is joined up.
Most of all, I want the young people I work with to feel valued, empowered, and able to make choices for themselves. Everyone has something unique to offer — my job is to help them believe that too.
Hello, I’m Irene Smith and I work as an independent Careers Adviser specialising in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
I am a Registered Career Professional with the CDI(Careers Development Institution) and part of that registration means I have to ensure I complete CPD (Career Professional Development) yearly.

I set up my practice because I believe every young person deserves the chance to explore their future with confidence, no matter what challenges they may face. For me, careers guidance isn’t just about jobs and qualifications it’s about helping young people discover their strengths, build their independence, and see what’s possible.

About Me:

Further Information:
I’ve worked in Education for several years, and during that time I’ve supported a wide range of learners with very different needs. What I’ve learned is that no two journeys are the same. That’s why my approach is always personal, flexible, and centred on the young person themselves.

As I work independently, I can give each client my full attention. I take the time to really listen, to understand what matters to them, and to guide them at a pace that feels right. I also work closely with families, educators, and outside agencies to make sure support is joined up and realistic.

My ethos is simple: to raise aspirations and nurture self-belief. I want every young person I work with to feel valued, capable, and empowered to make choices for their own future.
